African Chewing sticks have been used for oral hygiene for thousands of years in the Middle East, Africa and Asia to clean teeth and prevent plaque as effectively as toothbrushes. Scientists have now isolated and identified the antimicrobial agents in these sticks that kill oral pathogens and help prevent diseases.
Made from the root or stem of local trees and shrubs, they are chewed on the end until they become frayed into a brush. It is then used to clean the teeth simultaneously removing plaque and massaging the gums.
Unlike the neem twig, these sticks aren’t bitter when chewed and they leave you refreshing orally.
A 1993 oral health survey showed that although only about 20 percent of Namibians use chewing sticks, those who used the sticks had fewer cavities.
Each bundle contains about 40 days worth of oral care supply. Every order comes with 3 bundles of the chewing stick which should last you about 4 months.
All orders are shipped by post which usually takes 2-4 weeks to arrive depending on the destination country.
